One Heart, Three Practices
Evey Weissman moves through the world as a chant facilitator, a devoted caretaker for homes and pets, and a multi-media artist — three practices rooted in the same heart-centered approach to life. Whether she’s leading a room in devotional chanting, looking after a beloved pet while their family is away, or layering paint and paper into a new piece, Evey brings the same presence and care to everything she does. Her work, in every form, is an invitation to slow down, pay attention, and connect.
THE PRACTICE BEHIND THE CHANT
Sacred Sound, Open Heart
Evey facilitates chanting and meditation at the Ananda Center of Tucson, rooted in a tradition brought to the West by Paramhansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi. The practice uses focused, repeated phrases to quiet the mind and open the heart — chants drawn from Yogananda’s own teachings and from Swami Kriyananda. In Evey’s words, devotional chanting has the power to turn negative energy into positive — no experience needed, just a willingness to breathe and listen..

Evey Weissman, Multi Media Artist
Evey builds each piece from paint, paper, and found imagery, layering color and texture until the work feels less made than discovered. Birds, landscapes, and organic forms move through much of her art — quiet studies of the natural world filtered through memory and feeling. Every piece is one of a kind, shaped slowly and by hand.
